WHY I WILL NEVER STOP WRITING ‘AESTHETIC’ NOTES 📝⬇️ ——————————————— QOTD: typed or handwritten notes? I get comments *constantly* saying that notetaking is a waste of time and I could not disagree more! Personally, notetaking is probably the best study method for me to really memorise information and make it stick in my head! Here’s the reasons why: [✨] If you are handwriting the information, you are connecting the material to a physical action which helps to cement information in your brains. [✨] By using your own words, you are testing your understanding of the topic. [✨] If you condense a whole lecture into one page of notes (as I did for the notes shown in this reel), you are practicing crucial summarising skills and making super helpful revision resources. [✨] If you are someone who struggles to remain focused on a task when trying to learn material, taking the time to write ‘pretty’ notes might help you out by forcing you to slow down and really absorb what you are writing down (this has been a game changer for me!) [✨] Adding colour and decoration makes it easier to recall and picture in your mind during an exam (especially if you colour code) ACTIVE notetaking is 100% NOT a waste of time! It is actually an incredibly useful and effective study method - it’s probably the easiest one out there to do! The thing that *is* a waste of time and won’t help you out is PASSIVE notetaking - when you mindlessly copy word for word from your textbook. I would never encourage anyone to do this and in fact I’ve got an entire guide on my profile with loads of posts on how you can take active and effective notes! If writing notes doesn’t work for you or help you study, that is absolutely FINE! Do what works for YOU! I personally also use lots of other study methods when revising! But NEVER judge someone for how they study and call it a waste of time because that is helpful to absolutely no one! ——————————————— #notetaking #notes #notestagram #studynotes #notesgram #studygrammers #studymethods #studymemes #studylove #studyinspo #studyinuk #studyplus #studysetup #studyaesthetic #aestheticstudy #stationery #stationerylover #stationeryaddict

Two ways to take notes using the Cornell method… Method one: 1. In the left hand column, record any questions, vocabulary, main points, and ideas that arise 2. In the right hand column, write the detailed notes that correspond with those prompts 3. Summarise Method two: 1. Record the bulk of your notes in the right hand column, trying to be as concise and topical as you can 2. In the left hand column, reinstate your notes as questions, main points, important vocabulary etc. 3. Summarise Revision tip: Cover the right hand column and use what is in the left hand column as prompts. Can you remember the notes that go with them? Step-by-Step HERE ⬇️ Save for later 🥂 The 5-step ‘R.E.A.D.Y.’ Method👇 R – Retrieve, Don’t Reread 🔄 Stop rereading your notes. ✅ Instead, close the book and try to recall everything you just learned. ✅ Retrieval strengthens memory faster than anything else. E – Encode with Emotion & Visuals 🎨🧠 Your brain forgets facts but remembers feelings and images. ✅ Turn what you read into wild mental images or short stories. ✅ Link it to emotions to lock it in. A – Apply Active Recall Notes 📝 Don’t write long, boring summaries. ✅ Instead, write your notes as questions and quiz yourself later. ✅ This keeps your brain active, not passive. D – Divide with the Leitner System 📦 Not all flashcards are equal. ✅ Review hard ones more often and easy ones less. ✅ This saves time and builds long-term memory. Y – Yoke to What You Know 🧩 New info sticks better when it’s connected. ✅ Use mind maps or real-life links to tie it to things you already understand. ✅ This turns short-term learning into deep knowledge. 🪄 Comment “Grow” if you want to learn how to grow and monetize on Instagram without showing your face! 📝 MASTER these subject-specific note-taking methods for exam domination! 🚀 🧬 Biology – Transform complex processes into visual stories. Use annotated diagrams for anatomy and flowcharts for metabolic pathways. Connect concepts across different systems. ⚗️ Chemistry – Build your notes around reaction mechanisms and periodicity patterns. Create formula cards with conditions and exceptions. Visualize electron movements in reactions. ⚛️ Physics – Focus on concept relationships, not just formulas. Draw free-body diagrams, graph expected behaviors, and always note the real-world applications of each principle. ➗ Maths – Organize by problem types with step-by-step worked examples. Create a personal “error log” to track and overcome common mistakes. Focus on understanding why, not just how. Adapt your study approach to each subject’s unique challenges and watch your confidence soar!

Further Note-taking explanation 🔽 Mind Mapping: - Mind mapping starts with a main topic in the center and then branches out with related ideas. It’s useful for visual learners, connecting concepts, and brainstorming. Boxing Method: - Information is grouped into boxes or sections, each dedicated to a specific topic. It’s useful for those who like to keep their notes organized. Cornell Notes: - The Cornell method is split into three sections: a narrow left column for keywords and questions, a wider column on the right for detailed notes, and a bottom section for a summary. #student #highschool #studytips #school #studynotes
