Period of Oscillation in a Helical Spring 🌀 ✅ T = 2π √(m/k) - m: mass attached to the spring - k: spring constant (N/m) - T: period (seconds) 💡 Why? The spring's stiffness (k) and the mass (m) determine how fast it oscillates. #HelicalSpring #Oscillation

A mathematical pendulum is an idealized physical model representing a material point suspended on a weightless, inextensible string. The primary assumption is that the pendulum's motion occurs without considering air resistance and friction. The period of the pendulum is independent of its mass and amplitude for small angular displacements, making it a convenient tool for studying harmonic oscillations. #physics #science #physicsstudent #oscillation #learn

This mesmerizing illusion demonstrates how simple harmonic motion can be arranged in a circular pattern to create a continuous wave effect. Each spring and sphere moves in perfect synchronization, forming a beautiful representation of oscillations and wave motion. It’s a perfect visual blend of physics and art — showing how harmony exists even in motion. . . . #PhysicsHub #HarmonicMotion #CircularIllusion #WaveMotion #SimpleHarmonicMotion #ScienceAnimation #PhysicsExperiment #STEM #Oscillation #ScienceFacts #LearnPhysics #VisualScience #MotionIllusion #EducationalVideo #Physicsisbeautifull

Magic of Resonance ! When an external periodic force is applied over a body , and the frequency of the force is different from the natural frequency of the body, then the body executes forced vibrations with the frequency of the applied force with a small amplitude. If, however the frequency of the external force is equal to the natural frequency of the body ( or to its integral multiple), then the amplitude of the forced vibrations of the body becomes quite large. This phenomenon is called "resonance" . The mesmerizing physics of a pendulum wave ✨ In this 60-second cycle, the longest pendulum swings 51 times, while each shorter one adds exactly one more swing. By the end, the shortest pendulum has completed 65 oscillations. At first, they drift out of sync because of their different rhythms, but exactly one minute later, they reunite in perfect harmony—ready to begin their graceful dance all over again. ⚠️ STOP SCROLLING! If the swing moves more… does the time also increase? 🤔 Most students get this wrong in physics! 📌 Amplitude of Oscillation Explained Simply Amplitude is the maximum distance an object moves from its equilibrium (rest) position during oscillation. Think of a swing or pendulum: ➡️ The middle point = Equilibrium position ➡️ The farthest left or right point = Maximum displacement ➡️ That distance = Amplitude (A) So, Amplitude (A) = Maximum displacement from equilibrium position 📊 In waves, amplitude shows how strong or energetic the motion is. 💾 Save this post for physics revision 📤 Share with a friend who struggles with oscillations 🎁 Send a gift if this explanation helped you 🔔 Follow for simple physics notes every day #physicsnotes #oscillation #amplitude #physicsconcept #learnphysics

Follow @xplainingscience to learn everything about science, one post at a time 💣🧠 The period of a pendulum is the time it takes for the pendulum to complete one full oscillation, swinging from one side to the other and back again. This period is a key concept in simple harmonic motion. For a simple pendulum, which consists of a weight (or bob) suspended from a fixed point by a string or rod assumed to be massless and inextensible, the period depends mainly on the length of the pendulum (L) and the acceleration due to gravity (g). It is largely independent of the mass of the bob and, for small swings (less than about 15°), nearly independent of the amplitude. The period can be calculated using the formula: T = 2 * π * sqrt(L / g) Where: T = period (seconds) L = length of the pendulum (meters) g = acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s² on Earth) This shows that longer pendulums swing more slowly, while stronger gravity causes faster swings. For larger angles, the period slightly increases due to non-linear effects, which require more advanced calculations. Pendulums have been historically important in timekeeping, as their predictable periods allowed the development of accurate clocks. They are also used in engineering, seismology, and any application involving predictable oscillatory motion, illustrating how gravity, length, and motion interact in simple harmonic systems. #PendulumPhysics #SimpleHarmonicMotion #Oscillation #Timekeeping #GravityEffects
