PUVisiting our family school yesterday was a truly humbling experience. This time, I wasn’t there just as the daughter of the founder or someone who has built a career on television. I was there as a citizen of the same town, someone who was also once a student, equally unsure and still figuring out the path ahead.
I was never the brightest student in academics, but I found my space in extracurricular activities and carried dreams of making something of myself. I reminded the children how important it is to participate in arts, sports, and poetry, and how moral values shape the people we become.
I also shared that our identities should never be confined by caste or religion. Humanity must be the only true religion. Most importantly, I spoke to the children who may not shine academically right now, assuring them that they are no less. As Albert Einstein once said, “Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.”
Walking through the same town where my journey began and now sharing a part of my story with these kids reminded me how vital it is to stay curious & never stop believing in yourself.
