Voici les bénéfices à faire faire du renforcement aux enfants : 1️⃣ Développement des qualités physique de base : gain en force, puissance et vitesse. 2️⃣ Développement de la coordination et du schéma moteur : les enfants bougent plus efficacement leur corps dans l’espace 3️⃣ Développement des os: les enfants arréliorent leurs santés osseuses, grâce à la sollicitation régulière du squelette pendant l’entraînement, 4️⃣ Développement de la mobilité: le renforcement permet souvent d’explorer pleinement les mobilités articulaires 5️⃣ Amélioration des performances sportives : l’entrainement en résistance améliore les performances sur les autres sports, via le développement des qualités physiques (point 1). 6️⃣ Prévention des blessures: le renforcement, comme chez l’adulte, aider à prévenir certaines blessures liées aux sports (entorses, tendinopahies...) 🚨Bien entendu le renforcement musculaire doit être programmé de manière adéquate (charges adaptées) et réalisé avec une technique appropriée sous un encadrement sérieux. Il devrait suivre des principes de base comme la progressivité, la variété... Sur un public jeune je préfère parler de culture physique ou d’éducation à l’entrainement physique. L’âge minimum à partir duquel un enfant peut commencer le renforcement musculaire serait de 6 ans selon la Australian Strensth and Conditioning Association (2018). Big shoutout to this rider who has worked hard on her rider physio homework and made amazing progress in her riding over the last two months! 🙌 🔻 Common Mistakes (How They Connect): 1️⃣ Upright Upper Body & Limited Hip Flexion Prevents you from absorbing the horse’s movement and also leads to ➡️ 2️⃣ Tipping Forward Your center of gravity moves ahead of your base, making you unstable, which then means ➡️ 3️⃣ Swinging Lower Leg Legs move backward as your upper body tilts forward, often because of ➡️ 4️⃣ Quad Dominance Relying too much on quads instead of engaging glutes and hamstrings shifts your weight forward and disrupts balance, eventually resulting in ➡️ 5️⃣ Needing the Reins for Balance If your core and legs can’t hold the position, you’ll end up relying on your reins to stay upright—disrupting communication with the horse. 🔑 The Fix: Targeted off-horse exercises strengthen your hamstrings, glutes, and core, helping you maintain a neutral pelvis and stable position.
