✔️ Be sure you’re able to take time to try many shoes before going with your best options (all places should allow you to take the time you need)
✔️ Especially with handmade shoes, check them for consistency even within pairs, and that the platform is smooth & pleating is even.
✔️ If you 🧡 the shoe but the shank doesn’t break where you want it, you can resolve that. (DM @chloefreytag for how- she is the MASTER at this!)

If you do not know what a demi pointe shoe is, it is very similar to a pointe shoe, but it does not have a shank‼️
They are used in pre-pointe classes to prepare dancers for pointe shoes by giving them the sensation of the box and platform, without actually going on pointe🙈
Not everyone uses these shoes before going on pointe, but some teachers do have their students use them in preparation for pointe shoes😋
