how do you measure progress? i don’t think you always can. often, i think it’s immeasurable. since graduating this past spring, i’ve struggled to see myself as ‘progressing’ in the world. i don’t have a job in my field of study and i’m trying to figure out things as i go, which isn’t comfortable for someone who is type a and always has a plan. i think progress CAN be identified in a result and the time it takes to reach that result—like getting a specific job in a certain time frame. however, I think progress is also in the journey taken toward that result. what if progress IS the journey? the words “slow progress is still progress” have resonated with me lately as i struggle to understand what’s next in my life and how i want to go about achieving that. i am challenging myself to think of this ambiguous journey i am on, as progress itself. because progress is NOT a result. it is the active evolution of the self that exists within every journey in life. whatever path you are on right now in life, i hope you can recognize that the progress you crave already lives within YOU and the journey you are on 🩵🦋 #mentalhealth #foodforthought #progress #recovery
