AMI made 112 race shirts into a QUILT!
Well, I didn’t personally. Project Repat did! Thanks @projectrepatusa : you’ve done it AGAIN!
6 years ago, I turned 98 race shirts into a double-sided quilt. Each side has 49 shirts (7x7 panels). That quilt has been SUCH a beautiful and sentimental item for me and a great way to remember all my 2015-2017 races.
So, I did it again for all my 2018-2023 races!
Each side of the quilt has 56 shirts (8x7 panels), and both quilts were all in chronological order.
Yep, it took me hours to go through a pile of disorganized shirts and get all 112 in exactly the right order, but I did it and now I feel it was VERY worth it!
One thing that impresses me about this company is how well they follow directions and execute! I’ve now sent them a combined total of 210 race shirts and there’s not been a SINGLE mistake with any shirt bring out of order.
These quilts are an amazing way to organize shirts (since I’m not big on wearing them), but don’t want to throw them away, either.
@projectrepatusa hasn’t paid me to say this, but I highly recommend them. Great company: they do exactly what they say they will, when they say they will, and these two quilts have come expertly made. I’ll cherish both forever!

ORI have been planning this project since I graduated college. Don’t look too close or you may see what year I graduated high school! More than once, I would prep t-shirts, look around for quilters, get back some steep prices, then tuck the bin of shirts away for another few years.
When I found out about projectrepatusa, I was so excited to finally send off all of these shirts, removing a large bin from storage! The entire process could not have been easier. I grabbed that old bin plus a few more hanging in my closet, then organized, prepped and shipped my shirts, all from home. The weeks flew as they always do and I was absolutely thrilled when my package arrived 6 weeks later.
I had thought I would likely never touch these shirts again, I just wanted to preserve them in some way. So I imagined my new quilt just sitting in a memory bin once it arrived, to pull it out sometimes and reflect on the memories. Then when I got my T-shirt quilt back I was so pleased with the backing fabric. It is now on my couch for me to enjoy regularly!

I have been trying to think of what to do with all of my race participation shirts for a while and a lot of you suggested that I make a quilt out of them. Here’s the tea… I could never 😂 I am not that crafty. But you know who can?? Project Repat!
The process is SO SIMPLE! Select the size of your blanket, how many shirts you plan to send in, upload a photo of the layout, cut the front of the shirts off and ship them to the headquarters. The team took such special care of my shirts and the blanket is better than I could have imagined! 👏
