Earlier this month, President Donald Trump focused his ire on Portland and suggested National Guard troops may storm the city. Likening Portland to “living in hell,” Trump said protesters had ruined the city, seemingly alluding to reports of demonstrations near the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Building. But Portland police crime figures tell a different story. The city has continued to see declines in major categories of violent crime after record-breaking violence in 2021 and 2022. Since we heard reports that Portland is "out of control" and "crazy," we went back and took a look of our recent footage to confirm. Read more at the link in our bio.

At a press conference Thursday, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey issued an alarming threat to protesters: “If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies... your family will collect your remains.” The sheriff—an open Trump supporter—also warned demonstrators that if they block streets, resist arrest, or even spit on police, they’ll either be “in jail, in the hospital—or worse.” His chilling language mirrors Trump’s recent post threatening protesters: “If they spit, we will hit.” Elected officials and advocates are condemning Ivey’s rhetoric as dangerous and authoritarian. “Florida deserves leaders who de-escalate tensions, not inflame them,” State Sen.
