REModern Edwardian dresses are so hard to find!
So far, the most inexpensive ones that I have been able to find are from @simpleretro. (They gave me this dress a couple of years ago. I am not obligated to post this- I’m sharing it because I like it so much.)
@simpleretro has a large selection of Edwardian and Victorian inspired clothing. It is always fun to browse through their collection.
I like this dress a lot. It has very delicate features, but is sturdy enough to wear without having to worry about tearing it. It is made to wear with modern undergarments, which is nice.
I also have a stunning Edwardian blouse from Etsy that is a perfect historical reproduction. It’s amazing, but I have to wear it with Edwardian underthings, otherwise it looks off. I’m not complaining about that! It is what I wanted. I’m just pointing out that there are two types of historical reproductions that each serve a different purpose.
Also- my joke about it not costing $500 isn’t about seamstresses who put many, many hours into sewing beautiful reproductions- those dresses are worth every cent. I’m referring to *cough* other brands that make similar dresses in big factories and up-sell them for 🤑🤑🤑🤑
