STOP ruining your backswing ❌ Use this basket drill instead 🧺🔥 Most golfers are either: ➡️ Too laid off ➡️ Across the line This drill fixes BOTH 👇 How to use it: • 🧺 Too laid off? ➝ Feel like the ball drops into the front basket (in front of your body) ➝ Helps get the club more on line / slightly across • 🧺 Across the line? ➝ Feel like you dump the ball into the basket behind you ➝ Creates more layoff + external trail arm • ⚖️ Reality: ➝ The best players are somewhere in between • 💪 Key move for MOST players: ➝ Add external trail arm rotation ➝ Better width, structure, and control at the top ⸻ Why this works: • Gives you a clear feel vs real match-up • Fixes backswing direction instantly • Improves top position + consistency ⸻ 📲 Share this with someone who gets stuck at the top If you’re serious about improving: I’ve delivered 7000+ lessons with 5⭐️ reviews on Skillest ➡️ Link in bio to get started 📍 In-person coaching at Altus Performance, Dallas Texas #golfswing #golfdrills #backswing #golfcoach #skillest altusperformance juniorgolf golftips golftraining dallasgolf

🚨 More ‘Hell Drill’ content 🚨 I start almost all of my warm ups this way. Certainly gets the brain and body engaged very quickly! If nothing else, it builds a lot of skill and coordination. Give it a go. Start with chips from a tee, and gradually add speed until you can clip away mid irons from the ground. #golf #golfdrills #golfswing #skillest #golfcoach

Rory McIlroy – Grip Check 🎯 At the Australian Open, Rory’s right-hand grip was noticeably different. The V of his right hand was pointing more towards his right ear — that’s the photo on the right. Compare that to March earlier this year: the V points more towards his left ear. I’ve matched the camera angles as best I could — this difference is real. This is exactly why you test and measure. Scottie Scheffler does this every week — ensuring his fundamentals are spot on. There are three main grip types: 👉 Strong 👉 Neutral 👉 Weak Each can be tested to see what suits your body type and motion. If you’re struggling with your game, start with the basics: ✅ Grip ✅ Setup ✅ Ball position ✅ Stance Too many golfers blame swing mechanics before checking these key fundamentals. Want help? 🗣️ Comment “PURE” and I’ll send you my favourite THREE drills to help you instantly improve your ball striking! 💥 Question 💬 Have you ever noticed that when you swing SLOWER, you hit the ball FURTHER❓❓❓ This is a common experience for the majority of golfers, and the whilst this may not seem logical, the phenomenon can be attributed to a better SEQUENCE in the swing in terms of how a golfer releases the stored power into the ball. For many golfers, their understanding of the correct sequence is insufficient and mostly incorrect and any attempt to “Swing Faster” to hit the ball further only leads to a less efficient movement resulting in LESS distance, not more. The urge to HIT with the body means the swing’s potential power is never fully released and never gets released into the ball. So why does “swinging slower” work for so many people? Well the sensation of swinging slower really isn’t slowing the swing down at all. It simply serves to change the sequence of the swing due to less of an intent of the part of the golfer to “smash” the ball as hard as possible. This improved sequence leads to a more efficient release of the power accumulators in the swing and results in better contact and greater distance. This video will show you the drill you can do to improve your swing sequence in the crucial transition from backswing to downswing. Learn to get this vital part of the swing correct, and you’ll see improvements with every club in your bag! #stackandtilt #gridlife #flowy #stackapore #skillest teeclaw radiusmanagement handsin systematic tgm thegolfingmachine poweraccumulators

Struggling with heavy/fat pitch shots? This is a really common one I see 👇 This golfer was: ❌ Standing a little too far from the ball ❌ Moving off the ball in the backswing ❌ Dropping down through impact instead of staying left So what happens? 👉 Low point moves back… and we hit it heavy 😬 The fix 👇 ✅ Start with a little bit of weight on your lead side ✅ Keep your sternum (low point) slightly left during the backswing ✅ Then feel like you extend up and left through the strike This helps you: 🔥 Control the arc 🔥 Keep the strike consistent 🔥 Stop those fat pitch shots Simple feels… big difference 💥 📲 Want help with your own swing? In this Skillest online lesson, we worked on improving how the thorax, shoulders and arms move together throughout the stroke. When upper body mechanics become inefficient, we often see excessive hand action, changes in face control, inconsistent low point, and poor speed management. Great putting tends to come from a stable but functional upper body system: - The ribcage staying organised - The shoulders working with better symmetry - The arms remaining connected to the motion - The putter moving as a product of the body’s motion, not independent manipulation The goal is not to make the stroke “rigid” but to create a movement pattern where the upper body can control face, path and strike with far less variability under pressure. Small improvements in body organisation can create huge gains in start line, strike consistency and distance control. #skillest #onlinegolflesson #puttingcoach #puttingmechanics #golfperformance

@huwwilliamsgolf is a killer! One of the great young up and coming coaches…. and he knows where he needs to be to build his digital biz👇 “Skillest has completely transformed my coaching business. Before joining Skillest, I had different parts of my business spread across multiple apps and platforms. It was a nightmare to manage and a less than ideal experience for my students. Now everything lives in one place. I can analyze swings, deliver online lessons, manage my diary, build a video library for my students, and connect with new clients through the follower and messaging features. What I love most is that the platform keeps evolving. From ShadowPro to the new skeleton tracking in video analysis, the tools keep improving — which means the quality of coaching I can offer keeps getting better. As Skillest grows, my business grows with it. I’d recommend it to any golf coach looking to take their coaching business to the next level.” — Huw Williams We built Skillest to be the modern operating system for coaches — helping them run their entire coaching business in one place and deliver a better experience for their students. #Skillest #GolfCoach #GolfCoaching #OnlineCoaching #GolfInstruction CoachingBusiness

Some great work with Competitive Junior Golfer Ray on his grip and wrist position at P4. Rays tendency is for the face to get open with a cupped left wrist in the backswing. Working on this alignment allowed him to pivot better through the ball and not have to rely on the hands as much to square the face up at impact. ————————————————————- For more content Follow @ian_davison_performance_golf ———————————————————- ———————————————————- #skillest #golf #golfswing #golfcoach

Want to hit solid chip shots? Remember to “lean” and “cup”: 1. As you go back during your backswing, lean into your lead side. This loads your lead side and lowers your lead shoulder, creating the right angle to hit the ground. 2. Cup your lead wrist through impact instead of bowing your wrist. This creates another angle that exposes the bounce of the club to help it slide along the ground while giving you additional loft on your club. Chipping is all about creating the right angles so you can use bounce and loft to your advantage. Good chippers don’t try to “keep their head down” or “stick the club in the ground.” That’s a one-way ticket to tension… and tension is a recipe for the yips. Instead, elite players let the body keep moving and stand up through the shot. The chest rises, the handle keeps moving, and the club brushes the turf — no digging, no panic, no stabby motion. If you struggle with chunked chips, bladed chips, or the fear of hitting it… stop trying to force the club down. Learn to move through it. Want me to help you clean up your short game? I coach players online every day — send me a message or check out my Skillest profile and let’s build a chipping motion you can trust under pressure. #ShortGame #GolfTips #Chipping #GolfInstruction #Skillest
