WII often get asked about the tools I use to make my shampoo bars, so here’s a little breakdown of my go-to equipment ✨
🔹 Mould – I use a 6cm diameter mould. There are lots of options on Etsy, but I highly recommend @oceanmouldsuk for their smooth finish and solid quality. If you’re buying a press machine (see below), it often comes with a mould—just double-check with the seller.
🔹 Electric Stand Mixer – For larger batches (I mix up to 4kg!), I use the Vospeed Stand Mixer 8L / 1500W. But honestly, if you’re making just 1–5 bars, a heatproof Pyrex jug is more than enough to melt your ingredients.
🔹 Biodegradable Cling Film – This helps keep the mixture from sticking to the mould and gives a smooth finish. I use a compostable option that’s eco-friendly and surprisingly efficient—I can press about 10 bars with a single sheet! Search for “Biodegradable cling film” on Amazon.
🔹 Press Machine – My most-used item! I’ve had mine for over 3 years and it’s a total game changer. Search “Shampoo Bar Press” on Etsy—it ships worldwide from Turkey.
💡 If you’re just starting out, you don’t need fancy gear to make high-quality shampoo bars. It’s all about the formula.
