Study LESS, learn MORE. It’s not about cramming for hours—it’s about how you study. Here’s how to maximize your learning with less time: 🧠 Active Recall – Stop rereading. Quiz yourself instead. The more you struggle to remember, the stronger the memory gets. ✍️ Scribble Method – Use your non-dominant hand to doodle messy scribbles while studying. It keeps your brain engaged and improves retention. 📢 Feynman Technique – If you can’t teach it simply, you don’t understand it. Break it down as if you’re explaining it to a child. 💻 Second Brain – Organize your notes digitally so you can quickly find, review, and connect key concepts. It’s not about how long you study—it’s about how efficiently you learn.

Let’s be honest, romantic desks, pastel highlighters, and 5AM miracle routines aren’t fixing your grades. Here’s what actually works (and nobody posts because it’s not aesthetic): 1️⃣ Study in ugly places Your brain forms stronger memory cues when it’s not fully relaxed. When you study on your bed or in a cozy setup, your brain associates the space with rest → not recall. A slightly uncomfortable chair, library desk, or quiet corner keeps your brain alert, which improves focus and retention. Aesthetic ≠ effective. 2️⃣ Start with the hardest topic first Most students waste peak brain energy on easy chapters “to build confidence.” That’s a trap. Your focus is highest at the beginning of a study session, use it for the topic you avoid the most. By the time your energy dips, even small wins feel doable. Hard-first = faster syllabus completion. 3️⃣ Write bad notes on purpose Rewriting textbooks neatly is passive studying. Messy notes mean your brain is processing, not copying. When you struggle to frame points in your own words, your brain builds neural connections. If your notes look ugly but make sense to you, they’re gold. 4️⃣ Teach a wall (or yourself) out loud Silent reading gives false confidence. Explaining out loud forces your brain to retrieve information without help. If you freeze or overcomplicate, that’s the exact gap you need to fix. Teaching exposes weak spots faster than rereading ever will. 5️⃣ Stop studying when you’re still focused This sounds wrong but it’s powerful. Stopping only when you’re exhausted trains your brain to associate studying with burnout. Stopping while focused creates anticipation, so the next session feels easier to start. You’re training consistency, not suffering. Studying isn’t supposed to feel cute. It’s supposed to feel effective. Save this. Because discipline beats aesthetics every single time. My 3 non-negotiables ⬇️ I post a lot about studying, my business, and other productivity things, and so many people have asked how I’m able to get so much done. How do I stay focused? How do you achieve so much? How do you never get distracted? The truth is… I’m no different to you. I used to procrastinate, get distracted, stress out over work. This is completely normal and you aren’t alone in facing these things. However, over the years, I’ve discovered a handful of ways to keep myself on task, and have a clear system to use every day, centred around 3 non-negotiables: 1️⃣ Exercise every single morning Usually I go to the gym, sometimes I run… either way I try to get my heart rate up in some way as this wakes me up and gives me so much energy for the day. 2️⃣ No social media before 12pm This is a big one that I’ve only started recently. I know just how much of an impact scrolling has on my energy and focus, so I save it until I’ve gotten my highest priority work done for the day. 3️⃣ Get ready every day Get dressed. Brush my teeth. Do skincare. If I don’t do these things, my mind assumes today is a rest day and I know I won’t get anything meaningful done. We all have different rituals that help us, and this is simply what works best for me 💌 #student #podcast #study #entrepreneurship #womeninbusiness #entrepreneur #medicine

I used to think getting an A+ meant forcing myself to study for hours 📚 Sitting there, fighting distractions, blaming myself every time I reached for my phone… 📱 But the truth is— my brain wasn’t lazy. it just didn’t like how I was studying 🧠 So I stopped chasing discipline… and started redesigning my habits instead ✨ Here’s what changed everything: 1. urge surfing 🌊 when I feel like scrolling, I don’t fight it anymore. I just wait for 2 minutes ⏳ and almost every time… the craving fades on its own. focus comes back quietly. 2. dopamine stacking 🍵🎧 I started pairing studying with small things I enjoy— a warm drink, my favorite song, a little stretch break. my brain slowly learned: studying ≠ pain studying = comfort 🤍 3. visual progress cues ✅ I stopped tracking hours. instead, I track wins. crossing off one question, one page, one flashcard… those tiny victories? they feel so much better than mindless scrolling ✨ 4. habit bundling 🔗 I attach studying to something I already do daily. after coffee = study ☕ after shower = review notes 🚿no thinking, no debating… just flow. 5. environment priming 🕯️ same spot, same playlist, same setup. eventually, my brain doesn’t need motivation anymore. it just knows: “we study here.” and that’s when it shifted— studying stopped feeling like something I had to do… it became something I naturally returned to 🌙 not obsession from pressure. but attachment from design. A+ was never about being stronger. it was about being smarter with my system 📈 if studying feels hard for you, maybe it’s not you… maybe it’s your method. follow @huiqiennnn for more soft + effective study systems 🤍✨ #studygram #studytips #studymotivation #studentlife #productivity

Save these for later 💫 Struggling to stay awake while studying? These 5 science-backed strategies will help you study effectively even when you’re exhausted: Tip 1: Caffeine-Nap Trick A cup of coffee or tea followed by a 15-minute power nap will help you wake up feeling more alert. Tip 2: Five-Minute Rule Convince yourself to study for just five minutes. Once you start, you’ll likely find it easier to keep going. Tip 3: Active Recall > Rereading Passive studying won’t work when you’re tired. Instead of reading your notes again, use flashcards, try testing yourself, or explain concepts out loud. Tip 4: Switch Up Your Environment A small change—like moving to a different room or sitting by a window—can help reset your focus and improve concentration. Tip 5: Low-Effort Learning If reading feels impossible, let the information come to you. Listen to an audio summary or watch an educational video. Even a little studying is better than none, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Prioritize rest and take care of yourself!
