CRA few years ago, I was *terrified* of sword.
It slid a lot. I dropped it. And I avoided it for YEARS.
And then one day…
I was just *magically* able to do it.
But by “magical,” I mean…
I did a ton of *indirect work* on my balance.
I learned about this method called
**Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement**
This method completely transformed my…
-sense of balance
-sense of calm in my nervous system
-sense of proprioception (where I am in space)
It taught me how to sense the tiniest details in my skeleton—
Heels, pelvis, spine, shoulders, skull—
how they all relate and stack together.
And when your skeleton is aligned,
Your muscles can let go.
Movement gets easier.
It’s wild, I know
And this remarkable sense of awareness
Gave me more trust + confidence than any drill ever could.
Suddenly… sword balancing wasn’t terrifying anymore.
It became so incredibly easy,
I could do it in my sleep.

Side note! Pro tip:
Hair down = slippery nightmare + 10x harder
If you try this, I highly recommend putting your hair in a ponytail or headband so the sword actually *sticks*
