ZAI’ll start! Don’t worry about holding yarn in both hands right away! Focus on tension by dropping the strand you’re not using and stick to your usual knitting style. I’ve made plenty of sweaters this way and eventually transitioned to holding one strand in each hand, but there’s no rush to learn a new knitting method just to do stranded colourwork. The key is to stretch out the stitches you’ve just knit before switching colours. This keeps the float at the back loose enough for stretch! 🧶✨

DOWant to learn how to make colour work knitting, with no need to manage pesky floats? Look no further! Double knitting might be the perfect solution!
Double knitting is a deceptively simple technique in which you knit two pieces of fabric back to back at the same time, alternating between working on each side with every stitch. This creates lovely thick garments which can have gorgeous colourwork designs that are neat (and inversed) on each side, making it perfect for garments like scarves where both sides are on show!
I’ve been offline for a bit as I had a nasty pneumonia which has taken a long time to recover from, but I’ve been asked for more detail on how I double knit for ages so figured I would come back with my most requested video!
In this one I am working on the Adventures of Family Fox scarf pattern which I was very kindly #gifted by @katharina.kuntz (whose Over The Garden Wall scarf pattern also features).
I’m making it for my husband for Christmas and currently have about 400 rows left to do- do you think I’ll make it in time?? Anyone else hitting the gift-knitting panic season?? 😅
Also pls excuse the slightly cut off end, I had to cut it to under 3 mins for reels 😅

About the Linea Cardigan:
Will be available in Sizes S/M and L/ XL
In the video you can see the first cardigan I’m wearing is in the size L/XL and two other are S/M
It’s a beginner level pattern.
The yarn used is from @woolandthegang The One Wool
The S/M size:
The height( from neckline to bottom) is 53cm
Width is 58cm
Width of the neckline is 22 cm and height is 5,5 cm
Shoulder + sleeve is in total 62 cm
The L/XL size:
The height( from neckline to bottom) is 61cm
Width is 65cm
Width of the neckline is 24 cm and height is 7 cm
Shoulder + sleeve is in total 60 cm

FRSeeing videos of people using all these methods to memorise knitting increases and how they lean, and I’m just wondering if anyone has tried just looking at the stitch? 😂 I’m being very simplistic here and referring to the stitch I’m working in the video which is a make one left and right leaning
I can see if I’ve lifted my stitch wrong because it’ll leave a big gaping hole when I work it? On a raglan I just remember if I need to lean ‘away’ from the centre stitch or ‘towards’ it.
It’s also a great technique for learning how to read your stitches. I usually find some of the rhyming and visual cues suggested more confusing. 🫤
Anyway I am actually curious about how we’re remembering our increases?

In today’s video we: cast on using the long tail method, we join in the round and place our stitch marker. We then work 1 round of 1x1 ribbing.
We then introduce our second strand of yarn (if holding two together), then continue 1x1 ribbing until we finish the collar.
