Oh my god what is this, 1987? It’s more important for parents to care about their kids than to worry about whether they fit into a heteronormative structure or not. I can tell you this I’ve survived because enough people cared about me and none of them were from my family of origin. They were from all walks of life and it’s better for parents to be themselves and to live authentic lives and to set an example that way then it is to be miserable because children will feel that anyway I grew up in a household where I processed so many hidden dynamics and then got blamed when I was emotional about it. It’s just really important to understand how sensitive we all are and it’s even more important to live an honest life setting a good example is more important than whether you fit in to what society thinks is important or what this jerk thinks because I don’t think he knows anything about truly caring about people based on the way he’s behaving here
