시계를 보는 것과 3시라고 말할 수 있는 것, 그리고 5분이 얼마나 긴지 이해하는 것에는 차이가 있기때문에, 취학전 아이들에게는 추상적인 시간의 개념은 훨씬 더 어렵고 아이를 불안하게 하는것 같더라구요.
저희는 [역사 여행]을 다니면서 장거리 여행을 많이 했는데 그때, 꼭!! 타이머를 챙겨가지고 갔어요. 장시간 차를 타는건 아이들에게는 더더욱 힘든 일이라서 꼬~ 옥~ 타이머 돌려놓고 눈으로 확인 할 수 있게 해줘야 승유가 편안해 하더라구요😆
그래서 몇 년전부터 서로를 위해 시각적으로 시간의 흐름을 볼 수 있는 타이머를 사용하고 있어요.
시간의 흐름을 직관적, 시각적으로 보여주어서 아이도 불안해 하지 않고 바로 바로 남은 시간을 확인할 수 있고, 집중해서 무언가를 해야할 때도 집중력을 높일 수 있어요.

THThe Time Timer is one of those little things that makes a big difference in our homeschool day. I use it to set a visual time for dedicated work that both my kids and I can see. It helps them stay focused, and it helps me gauge how much time they can realistically stay mentally engaged before they need a break.
I even like using it with my older kids so they don’t have to use their phone times and risk getting distracted by incoming texts from friends.
