BRHere’s a pretty basic Underhook counter that I like to use when my opponent pressures into me heavily.
This one is pretty safe and if you’d like you can keep the overhook and finish a dump instead of a regular single leg.
A great example of this is David Taylor vs Hassan Yazadani in the 2022 World Finals in Oslo. Taylor does this exact sequence probably 10 times to escape the best Underhook in the world.

REAlex Dieringer using the far arm dump to score - initially starting with an inside tie & an underhook, he looks to shoot in for a sweep single snaking the hand round the shin, as he shoots this the inside tie transitions to a tight elbow control akin to an overhook which stops the base on that side.
Both of these grips combined create a strong whipping effect, the snaked hand takes the leg back and away, the elbow control takes the base away and it leads directly into a pin!

DPUnderhook throw-by to single to back side double finish by Dylan Ragusin.
When opps don’t defend against an underhook with a whizzer/overhook, the throw-by becomes an extremely effective option to off-balance them & score points.
Footwork: left leg step, pivot/contort (head leads the way), right leg follow through

PUTry this underhook counter out! Make sure you clamp your overhook down first to create the pressure release! If you can get a thumb block & help push your opponent away/create space, it will help drastically.

One of my favorite underhook counters is none other than a standing bundle throw (or Harai Goshi as my Judoka friends would say)
Clamp ⬇️ on the underhook with a strong (and high) Overhook🪝
CONTROL head position & the opponents FAR Arm💪
Feed the far arm to the Overhook💥
Use your free arm to grab the opponents head & circle them to get them to step and plant all their weight on the far leg✅
Step thru & kick THRU their far leg out (as if it’s not even there) above their knee for maximum FORCE😤🔥
Maintain control of the head/bundle as they hit the mat to land in a secure/controlled pinning position‼️🙏

DU@pixley7 displaying a judo/bjj master class at @adcc_official 🔥
Pixley first hits a beautiful harai goshi from an overhook control as a counter to driving underhook pressure.
On the second harai, he loses wrist/tricep control, causing Meregali to try and support himself through the fall and damaging his shoulder.
The lack of mobility in Meregalis now injured shoulder makes him immobile on the floor, allowing Pixley to lock in the darce he had been gunning for and ends the match in a submission.
In my opinion, if someone does a technique to you that is valid and legal and you’re injured as a result, this is still a clear display of dominance from them. Judo can be devastating, and here we see a clear example of stand up proficiency creating the conditions to end a fight.
