It was sometime in 2007.
Just a regular weeknight rerun of iCarly on Canada’s YTV channel.Nothing seemed off about it.
The episode played like it always did same jokes, same laugh track, the same familiar iCarly
But then, right as the credits should’ve started,
the screen suddenly cut to black.
At first, it just looked like a glitch.
No music. No ad break. Just silence.
But then something flickered.
Just long enough to realize… this wasn’t part of the show.
The screen was dark
but not completely.
There was a figure.
You could barely make him out, like a man standing just far enough from the light to stay hidden.
Backlit by what looked like an old television glow,
he didn’t move.
He was already there staring when the feed switched over.
And then he spoke.
No intro. No buildup.
Just one sentence, said slowly and clearly,
as if it had already been repeating long before you ever tuned in:
“Why can’t anyone hear me.”
There was no music underneath it.
No hum. No static.
Only that voice
and something about it felt completely wrong.
It didn’t sound like a prank.
Or a bad microphone.
It didn’t even sound like it came from the same decade.
Then, just as quickly as it started,
it was gone.
The screen went black again.
And within seconds, the normal broadcast picked back up.
No explanation. No mention of what just aired.
As if it hadn’t happened at all.
The network gave a vague statement afterward
called it a “technical issue” and left it at that.
They never named the episode.
They never addressed the footage.
And they certainly never re-aired it.
But the moment didn’t disappear.
It still exists just not in any official website
Only in grainy recordings, moved from forum to forum,
To this day, no one knows who the man was.
No actor, no sketch, no station. ICarly had changed.
