After walking alongside friends who’ve said goodbye to their babies at 14 weeks, 20 weeks, 24 weeks, and even at 39 weeks… Alex and I made a decision. We’re going to share this pregnancy now… not if or when we reach a certain week. Because the truth is, every single day of pregnancy is a miracle, and every single day holds risk. Waiting in silence doesn’t make the fear go away. It just makes the loneliness louder. When we lost our twins in September 2021, we had kept the pregnancy quiet, and sharing our grief felt even heavier. Like we had to explain why we were heartbroken. Like we didn’t get to celebrate before the loss. I don’t want to do that again. I want to honor this new life from the very beginning, just like we did for Tatum and Addie’s pregnancies. So here we are still in the first trimester, still holding our breath a little, still praying… but choosing to celebrate instead of fear. Finding out you’re pregnant is a miracle. No matter how many weeks that miracle stays. And I know there are so many mamas still longing to see those two pink lines. I don’t take this for granted. Yes, I’m scared. Yes, the “what ifs” try to steal my peace. But I’m leaning on the One who knows the story already and trusting that He’s holding this baby, and us, every step of the way. So if all goes well, we’ll be outnumbered come April. We’d love any prayers you’re willing to send for a healthy pregnancy. We’re so, so grateful.
