The radius is the distance from the center to the surface. You square the radius (r²). Then multiply by 4π. This gives the entire curved area covering the sphere. 🧠 Why 4πr²? One intuitive way to understand it: The area of a circle is πr². A sphere’s total surface area turns out to be four times the area of its largest circle (called a great circle).
