BRPeople always ask me where it’s safe to live in Santa Rosa Beach, and I kind of laugh… because here, the question itself feels strange. This is small town living.
There are little things about 30A-Santa Rosa Beach that still catch us off guard because they feel like a different world from where we came from.
Back in Washington, I once carried my groceries out in my arms because I refused to pay the bag fee. No bag? Extra charge. Bag tax! Taxes on everything! I stood there holding my food like I’d committed a minor crime as I walked out the door.
Good news! Here they bag your groceries.
No lecture. No fee. Just… normal. 😂
This place really is a bubble.
My wife has accidentally left her purse and car keys in the car overnight more times than I can count. 😬 Back in Washington, that would’ve meant instant panic and assuming the car was gone by morning. She did this once before in our neighborhood in Washington - and her wallet stolen. There was no room for careless living or you paid the price.
Here… it’s just not a thing. Im not saying it can’t happen, but the odds are wayyyyy less here 😉
And the biggest one for me?
I don’t panic when my kids are outside.
I could never imagine letting my five-year-old walk out the front door alone back in Washington. Here, my kids ride bikes, play out front, and stay out until the sky turns pink — and I don’t feel like I need eyes on them every second.
That’s the 30A bubble.
It’s not just safer — it feels safer.
Not paranoid. Not locked-down.
Just peaceful.
Most people think this kind of life doesn’t exist anymore.
But it does.
And once you see it, it’s hard to unsee.

PAWelcome to the stunning Rosemary beach in 30A, a 24 mile scenic area along Highway 30A on the gulf coast of Florida. 30A is by far my favorite place I visited during my 6 weeks in Florida and I can’t say enough great things about it. It’s walkable plus the homes and architecture are stunning, making you think you could be in Europe instead of Florida. The shopping is incredible and the coffee/food is expensive but delicious.
There’s multiple towns along Highway 30A but my favorites were Rosemary beach, Alys beach (walking distance from Rosemary beach), and seaside. Have you been to 30A before?

MUCoastal dune lakes are a rare natural phenomena that only occur in a handful of locations around the globe. One of those places is in South Walton, Florida which has 15 dune lakes situated along 30A coast 🩵

Coastal dune lakes are said to be as much as 10,000 years old and were formed by winds that redistributed sand and created the shallow basins (with most lakes averaging only about 5 feet deep).

Omg you guys we’ve always heard such great things about @cinnamon_shore from friends and neighbors, now we are finally here! It’s such a cute beach town that gives 30A vibes, but yet in Texas only a couple hour drive from us in Houston 🤯.
Gosh, yall have no idea how much this week is needed! Laid back family time, sleeping in, no alarms, and a break from the daily hustle and bustle of our non stop lives.
