TON 618 🌀 One of the largest black holes ever discovered. Technically, it’s a quasar — so bright it outshines its entire galaxy and looks like a single star from Earth. ✨ At the center of this quasar lies a monster black hole about 66 billion times more massive than the Sun. Its event horizon is so huge that it would swallow our entire solar system — extending far beyond Pluto. 🤯 Follow me for more Space-Content! 🌌🔭 #astronomy #space #telescope #blackhole #quasar

. . . Explanation 👇 TON 618 is not just a black hole; it’s an “ultramassive” monster that sits at the center of a hyperluminous quasar. For a long time, it held the title of the most massive black hole ever discovered, though recent findings (like Phoenix A*) have given it some competition. Here are the facts and the staggering dimensions of this cosmic giant: Key factors :- • A “Lyman-Alpha Blob”: TON 618 is surrounded by an enormous cloud of ionized gas called a Lyman-alpha nebula. This nebula is at least 330,000 light-years across, which is double the diameter of the Milky Way galaxy. • The Quasar Engine: We don’t see the black hole itself, but rather the quasar—the brilliant disk of gas and dust spinning around it. This material falls toward the event horizon at speeds of roughly 7,000 km/s, heating up so much that it outshines its entire host galaxy. • Distance and Time: It is located about 18.2 billion light-years away (comoving distance). Because of the time it takes light to travel, we are seeing TON 618 as it was 10.8 billion years ago, shortly after the peak of galaxy formation in the universe. • Discovery: It was first noticed in 1957 during a survey of faint blue stars at the Tonantzintla Observatory in Mexico. At the time, scientists didn’t know what quasars were and simply cataloged it as entry number 618. How it Challenges Physics :- TON 618 is so large that it sits near the theoretical upper limit for how big a black hole can grow. Scientists believe black holes around this mass (approx. 50 billion solar masses) might begin to struggle to grow further through “standard” accretion because the radiation pressure from the falling gas becomes so intense it actually pushes other potential food away. ✨💫🤯🛰️TON 618 dominates, but Phoenix A rules the cosmos! In the cosmic arena of extreme objects, some giants seem unbeatable—until something even larger appears. TON 618 stands as one of the most intimidating objects ever discovered. It is an ultramassive quasar powered by a black hole with an estimated mass of about 66 billion Suns. Compared to gigantic stars such as Stephenson 2-18 or Betelgeuse, TON 618 isn’t even playing the same game. Those stars are enormous in diameter—large enough to swallow the orbits of several planets—but they are still just stars. A black hole like TON 618 contains vastly more mass and gravity than any known star. Even the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy, Sagittarius A*, looks modest beside it. Sagittarius A* holds about 4 million solar masses, which is huge on a galactic scale but tiny compared with TON 618’s tens of billions of solar masses. In other words, TON 618 could theoretically swallow millions of Sagittarius A–sized black holes. But the universe always seems to have something even bigger waiting in the shadows. Enter Phoenix A, the black hole at the center of the Phoenix Cluster. This monster is estimated to contain around 100 billion solar masses, making it one of the most massive black holes ever proposed. If TON 618 is a cosmic heavyweight champion, Phoenix A is the undisputed super-champion. So while Stephenson 2-18 and Betelgeuse dominate the world of stars, and Sagittarius A* rules our galaxy, TON 618 crushes them all with ease. Yet in the ultimate cosmic hierarchy, Phoenix A remains the final boss—so massive that even TON 618 has no chance of competing.🌀🚀📡🌌☀️🌞🌟🌠💥 #astronomy #astrophotography #universe #space #blackhole

TON 618 is not a normal black hole… it is one of the largest cosmic objects ever discovered. With a mass around 66 billion times the Sun and an event horizon nearly 260 billion kilometers wide, TON 618 exists on a scale where our entire Solar System becomes almost meaningless. This video shows a clear comparison: TON 618 versus the size and structure of our Solar System. The Sun to Pluto distance fits inside TON 618 more than 15,000 times. Every planet, every orbit, even the Oort Cloud shrinks to a tiny speck when placed next to this ultra massive black hole. TON 618 was first identified in the 1970s through its extremely bright ultraviolet emissions. Astronomers later realized that this light came from a hyper luminous quasar, powered by one of the most massive black holes ever detected. Even today, TON 618 remains one of the largest confirmed black holes in the observable universe. These giant scale comparisons remind us how small we really are in a universe filled with objects beyond imagination. Exploring these extremes is what makes space so endlessly fascinating. 🕳 TON 618 — The Monster Black Hole Beyond Comprehension 🌌⚫ We talk about black holes… but TON 618 isn’t just a black hole — it’s a cosmic god of gravity. A supermassive void so huge, it redefines what “massive” even means. 😳 💡 The Scale That Shatters Imagination: ✔ It’s over 66 billion times more massive than our Sun ☀️ ✔ Its event horizon could swallow our entire solar system — twice. ✔ Light itself needs days to circle it once. ✔ It devours matter faster than entire galaxies can form. Located 18.2 billion light-years away, this hyperluminous quasar shines brighter than 100 trillion suns, powered by a gravitational beast that bends both time and reality. 🌌 Imagine this: If the Sun were the size of a coin… TON 618 would be a mountain the size of Earth itself — a living engine of darkness consuming the universe’s light. We can’t see it directly — only the blinding glow of matter dying around it. It’s not just massive… it’s the closest thing to infinity we’ve ever found. 💬 What blows your mind more — its size or its power? 👇 📍 Follow @Universifyy for cosmic truths that redefine your sense of scale. . . . #ton618 #blackhole #space #universe #cosmos #astronomy #astrophysics #universifyy #spacefacts #scienceexplained #mindblowingfacts #galaxy #nasa #spaceisawesome #fyp #explorepage #cosmicperspective #quantumphysics #reality #sciencecontent
