No one talks about this part of postpartum. It wasn’t just the weight. It was the loss of strength, the confidence, the routine I used to rely on. The version of me that felt grounded in her body felt… unfamiliar. Postpartum didn’t break me—but it definitely humbled me. Some days I didn’t recognize my strength. Other days I missed feeling capable in my own body. And instead of rushing to “fix” anything, I decided to start again—slow, intentional, and honest. Lifting lighter. Moving with purpose. Rebuilding from the inside out. That’s exactly why I created the 6-Week Reset and Rebuild Challenge. Not to bounce back—but to reclaim my strength and help other moms and women do the same. If I woke up 20 pounds heavier and I wanted to lose it here’s what I would do 👇🏽 🔹Calculate my calorie intake. Calculate your maintenance calories (you can use any calculator on the internet that’s based on the Mifflin-St Jeor equation) then eat 300-500 cals below that amount. (You can track the first week or 2, then you’ll have an idea about how your portions are supposed to look like) 🔹Increase my activity levels outside of my planned workouts. Non exercise activity thermogenesis represents a significant portion of the total calories you burn during the day (even more than the planned workouts) so walk, use the stairs, play with your dog outside etc. 🔹High protein. 2 grams per kg of body weight, we don’t want to lose muscle, muscle is a fat burner machine. 🔹Prioritize 7-9 hours of sleep. This is when your body regulates your hunger hormones (leptin and ghrelin), reduces your cortisol levels, and improves your insulin sensitivity. It’s also key for muscle recovery. This is a must for fat loss, you can be doing everything perfect, but if you’re not sleeping enough you’re sabotaging the process 🔹I would focus on strength training (3-4 sessions per week) and 40 min of cardio as a compliment at the end of my workouts 🔹Zero alcohol. Your body prioritizes metabolizing alcohol, this completely pauses fat burning. It also raises your cortisol levels and is as calorie dense as fat but without any nutritional value.
