Minions (2015) — There is only one man behind all the voices: co-director Pierre Coffin. He provides the voices for all 899 Minions, creating their “Minionese” language by mixing words from French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and even food names.
The Minions were originally designed to be large, “orc-like” creatures, but the directors kept shrinking them to make them cuter and more likeable. Their final pill-shaped design was inspired by Oompa Loompas from Willy Wonka and Jawas from Star Wars. Additionally, while they have existed since the dawn of time to serve the most despicable masters, they are physically invincible and can even survive in outer space without oxygen.
