It’s helping me build a foundation so I can pivot later, because by then I will understand what “right” looks like, what wrong looks like, but most importantly how to respond when something is wrong. Cybersecurity is what you call an umbrella term, because there are so many paths you can take: 🔴Red Team: offense, ethical hacking, penetration testing 🔵Blue Team: defense, protecting systems, monitoring threats 🕵🏾‍♀️Digital Forensics: investigating breaches and tracing cybercrime 📊GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance): policies, risk management, business + security alignment ☁️ Cloud Security, SOC Analyst, Incident Response, Identity & Access, and more Before you jump in paying for certs and bootcamps figure out which area interests you most. If I’m uncomfortable, I can’t concentrate 😂 — so yes, I thrive in unorthodox work fits. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I wore a suit to work 🤫🤣. #afrotech25 was everything I needed and more! My brain is still catching up to my heart, but I’ll share my key takeaways soon. Until then, enjoy seeing what I wore while learning, exploring, and connecting 🫶🏾. Sidenote: Can I be honest with y’all for a sec? I go back and forth on whether I want to share “fashion”-focused content sometimes. There have been times when I’ve felt like people only see the clothes and not the person — not the soul — and the enemy tried to use that to harden my heart. But then one of you will send the kindest message, and I remember why he fought so hard to stop this. A lot of my study time this year has been focused on breaking free from the idol of being “understood” or “accepted.” The Lord has been reminding me to focus more on the mission than the method. And my mission is very clear: to care well for His people and share substantive info that helps them live intentionally and with purpose. If sharing my work outfits helps you do that, then mission accomplished. Is that the only way God will use me? No. But is it one way He may have used me today? Yes. None of us are ever just one thing in this life. We’re dynamic, multidimensional individuals. To reduce someone to simply the clothes they wear doesn’t limit them — it limits us. Clothing is a form of self-expression, but it isn’t the person. Dare to let your heart and mind see beyond what your eyes can catch. We don’t always get to decide how God uses us, but we do have to stop resisting and be obedient. I don’t share style to pressure anyone to purchase. I only lead with need — everything I share is rooted in purpose and a desire to be of service.
