DRMoisturizing after a chemical exfoliant (or retinoid) doesn’t necessarily minimize its effectiveness, and certainly doesn’t render it useless. However, it may buffer the intensity so if you are someone with sensitive skin then applying moisturizer directly after may be best. For those who tolerate AHA or BHA well I would wait a few minutes before applying moisturizer to allow the exfoliants time to absorb. But there is no need to wait 30 minutes.

Serums are a thinner consistency to lotions and creams. They typically contain higher %’s, concentrations and formulations than their lotion and cream counterparts.
They have the ability to absorb into the skin quicker and more effectively as well.
I prefer a serum consistent for my daily antioxidants. They can be layered effectively and typically don’t cause pilling! A win win!
