This art doesn’t tickle my fancy that much at all. There’s reasons within its frame that I think it’s not as “good” as it could be. Comparing this to hyper realism gets you no where. It’s actually a pseudo intellectual critique at the final analysis.
Shrouded within the dislike of this artist, is an envy for his success. Artists feel, how can he be so successful when I slave away at my craft learning how to actually draw.
Well it’s because he’s good at what he’s doing. Within his frame, he’s likely the top 1%.
Within your frame, you are mid at best. Work on yourself. Commit to your authentic craft and make what you need to make. Stop comparing yourself to this guy and compare yourself to yourself yesterday and at most, to the frame which you sit in.
