Disclaimer: I absolutely trust my husband. This isn’t about distrust of him or anyone in our home. When girls are over, we intentionally create a space where they can shower, change, and settle in without needing to think about adult men being around at all. It’s about comfort, boundaries, and teaching kids that it’s okay to prioritize safety and awareness during sleepovers. We also often have extended family and guests in the house, so this structure helps us be extra mindful. My husband handles the rest of the house while I stay with the girls and put them to bed. It’s simply one way we choose to host responsibly.

_O3rd wheel for life. Our eldest will be a senior in high school this fall and he is moving full steam ahead toward college. He will be the first among our kids to fly the coop and I have mixed feelings about it. I’m excited for him because college was one of the most enjoyable and growth-filled seasons of my life, but I mourn the loss of our family as we know it.
I don’t know yet whether he’ll move abroad or cross-country or remain local but he will always have a place to come home to. After college, I moved home 3 times, including one stint with my husband and newborn while our house was being renovated. I relished the help and support of my parents and my hope is that my children will feel that continued kinship as well.
They say “home is where the heart is” and if “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” then perhaps the secret to keeping my kids around is food. Either way, it’s worth a try and I will report back!

I wanted to share five things i learned while working closely with him. Not about the hair itself, but about professionalism, presence, and how to move when you’re operating at a high level.
First things first! ⬇️
1. Being on time is a form of respect.
Not just for people but for the opportunity itself. Usually such caliper of clients are always on the go! You have to make sure you’re prompt to get them in and out with clean clean work ofc! Sometimes you won’t have much time to get the job done, so being on time is imperative!
2. Professionalism is quiet.
Of Course with God first you learn not to Lust and also how to carry yourself properly because you have to represent him first. It’s something you live… It’s understanding especially being the only girl on the team with a bunch of men, my name needed to be clean at all times! Preparation, consistency, and composure speak for you.
3. Speaking less makes people listen more.
There’s power in discernment. Not everything needs to be said especially in rooms that matter.
4. Trust is built by being a safe, reliable presence.
When people feel comfortable with you, they keep you close.
5. Longevity comes from how you carry yourself, not just what you can do. Talent opens the door. Character keeps you in the room. They trust to have you in their private space so keep it private in what you share or speak on. Act like you belong and don’t be a FAN!
Lastly, working in these environments shaped how i show up. Not just as a stylist, but as a business owner and brand and that’s exactly what shifted everything for me. I stopped thinking like someone who just does hair and started building like someone creating an empire.
