If you’re new here, let me tell you why I’m doing this. I decided to declutter my life, and I started with my closet. Because let’s be real, a lot of us hold onto things. Clothes that don’t fit anymore, outfits with tags still on them, or pieces we keep just because of the memory attached to them. My closet was full of it. So I pulled out everything I haven’t worn, everything that’s too small, some stuff still had tags on it. I bagged it all up, and I’m giving it away. Then I had another idea. I started putting outfits together, top and bottom, and hanging them up as full outfits. Now every day I just grab a random one and wear it. If it doesn’t fit or I don’t wear it, it’s gone. Right now I have 65 outfits ready, and that’s not even counting all the pants I still need to match with tops. So for the next 365 days, I’m wearing what’s already in my closet. Mixing and matching. Adding a little accessory, maybe a tie, a belt, earrings, or a cute pair of shoes. Because this isn’t just about cleaning out my closet. It’s about decluttering my mind too. It’s tempting, but don’t do it! We all get influenced to start buying items for Spring, but don’t forget what you already own. Tucked away in storage you already have those lighter colours that lift your mood on a Spring day. It’s not quite the time for a full seasonal swap over but I’m a firm believer in just putting away a few items and bringing out a few when you need to. If you have good systems for out of season clothes it makes it very easy to do. Here’s the (unpopular) truth no one tells you 👇 A closet full of random pieces will drain you way faster than a small closet that actually makes sense (read that again!!) So instead of buying more… build a wardrobe that actually WORKS: 1. Pay attention to what you’re actually wearing What do you reach for on a normal day? → I’m a jeans + cute top girl, so I stopped buying dresses “just in case.” 2. Notice what you’re NOT wearing (and why) → Free People sets? Never wore them. Stopped buying. → Thin, unlined dresses? Hard no. Now I always check quality. If you’re not wearing it, there’s a reason. 3. Make your closet match your actual life Not your past season of life. Your real one. Carpool, errands, work, dinner—dress for that. 4. Dress the body you have right now Not old sizes. Not “goal weight.” If your size is stable—edit the rest out. It’s just noise. ⸻ Less chaos. More intention. Easier mornings.
