FLOn May 6th, 2023, Alvino Senones took the life of Randall Ervin and will now serve nearly 21 years in Florida State Prison, followed by 10 years of probation and community service. Senones was driving at excessive speeds with a BAC of .218 when he failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into Ervin’s vehicle, sending it into a utility pole. Ervin’s vehicle, a fuel‑tank truck, was immediately engulfed in flames, taking his life at the scene.
Senones now faces 15 years for vehicular homicide, 5 years for DUI manslaughter, and 270 days in county jail for DUI property damage. In addition to probation and community service, he must also comply with the following conditions:
• Alcohol evaluation and recommended treatment
• Attend community support group
• Attend DUI school
• Driver’s license suspended
• Drug evaluation and recommended treatment
• Fine
• Ignition interlock device
• Incarceration followed by probation
• Mental health evaluation and recommended treatment
• No alcohol
• Random drug screen urinalysis
• Vehicle immobilization
• Victim impact panel (3 hrs)
This case is a tragic reminder of the irreversible consequences of impaired and reckless driving.
