WH“Sinema politiktir. Sinema ya rezil olur ya da politik olur.”
Godard 1968’de Cannes’da festival perdesine asıldığında, sinemanın ışık ve gölgeden öte bir anlam taşıdığını kanıtlıyordu. Dünya sokaklarda yeniden yazılırken, hiçbir kamera gerçeğe kör kalma lüksüne sahip olamaz. Vizörden bakmak, bir tarafı seçmektir; ya hayatın o kaotik akışına dahil olursunuz ya da steril stüdyoların sahte parıltısında kaybolursunuz.
Kamera artık bir gözlemci sıfatından sıyrılıp bir silaha dönüşür. Kurgu masası ise bir hesaplaşma alanı haline gelir. Işık sönüp perde karardığında, geriye kalan şey estetik bir hazdan ziyade sokağın o sert ve soğuk gerçekliğidir. Hayat, yönetmenin “kes” komutuyla durmayacak kadar sahici; sinema ise bu hakikati haykırmaktan korkuyorsa, tarihin tozlu raflarında ufak bir dipnot olarak kalacaktır.

Description:
On the Silver Globe) is a 1988 Polish epic surrealist science fiction arthouse film written and directed by Andrzej Żuławski, adapted from The Lunar Trilogy by his grand-uncle, Jerzy Żuławski. Starring Andrzej Seweryn, Jerzy Trela, Iwona Bielska, Jan Frycz, Henryk Bista, Grażyna Deląg and Krystyna Janda, the plot follows a team of astronauts who land on an uninhabited planet and form a society. Many years later, a single astronaut is sent to the planet and becomes a messenger.
Production took place from 1976 to 1977, but was interrupted by the Polish authorities. Many years later, Żuławski was able to finish his film, although not in the format originally intended. On the Silver Globe premiered at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival, and has received critical acclaim.
