Why does that lab always take forever with b-hCG results on Friday? 😫 Let’s talk about b-hCG (beta human chorionic gonadotropin), which is pregnancy hormone! 🤰 Once the embryo attaches to the uterine lining, it begins making b-hCG. Initially, the levels of b-hCG are low, but once you are 12-14 days post ovulation or ~9 days after a blastocyst embryo transfer, the levels are high enough to be detected reliably. 🗓️ After an insemination/IUI cycle or timed intercourse, we test b-hCG 2 weeks later. After a frozen embryo or blastocyst transfer, we usually check it 10 days later. 🩸 We prefer to do a blood test because it’s more accurate than a urine test and gives a quantitative result instead of just a positive/negative. 😃 There isn’t a “good” level for a first b-hCG test, but we like to see it anywhere above 50 mIU/mL. 😬 If your first b-hCG test is < 50, that doesn’t necessarily mean that your pregnancy won’t be successful. I’ve seen babies born with first b-hCG levels of 7! ➡️ What’s more important than the actual level of b-hCG is the trend, or how the level rises over time. 📈 In general, we say that we want to see the b-hCG double every 48 hours, but even a 53% rise in b-hCG level is considered adequate. 👯‍♀️ If the b-hCG is really high, it’s not necessarily a sign that you have twins or multiples. So don’t read into it too much. You won’t know for sure until you do an ultrasound. 📉 If the b-hCG goes down over time, that’s a sign of a biochemical pregnancy or early miscarriage. ⚠️ If the b-hCG level rises abnormally, this could be a sign of an abnormal or ectopic pregnancy, which is a pregnancy that has implanted outside the uterus. These are serious and your doctor will advise you about what to do in this situation. 💉 Keep in mind that if you took an hCG trigger shot during your treatment cycle, it will take about 10-14 days to work out of your system so don’t test too early because you might get a false positive result. ✅ B-hCG is a great tool to help us monitor early pregnancy until you can schedule that first ultrasound, which is usually around 5-6 weeks of pregnancy. ❤️ Like this post and ask your questions in the comments!

Yalnızca rahim duvarının kalınlaştığı tespit edilebilir. 🌸Kesenin görünebilmesi için BHCG’nin 1500-3000 değerlerine yükselmiş olması gerekir. Bunun için de doktorunuz size birkaç gün sonrasına randevu verir. BHCG bu kadar yükselmesine rağmen kese görünmüyorsa dış gebelikten şüphelenilir. 🌸Rahim içinde kese oluşumu sonrası 6-7. Haftalarda hala kesenin içi boşsa yani yolk sac ve embriyo oluşmamışsa bu defa boş gebelik şüphesi oluşur. Tüp bebek tedavisinde embriyo transferi sonrası çok düşük gebelik ( hCG) test sonuçları genellikle biyokimyasal gebelik veya şansızlık olarak dış gebelik ile sonuçlanır. Hatta diğerinin gelişmemesi için seri ölçülen gebelik testlerinde yeterli artış görülmez ise bazen iğne tedavisiyle dış gebelik ameliyatı yapmayalım diye düşürmeye çalışırız. Bu iğne ne kadar erken yapılırsa başarı şansı o kadar fazla olur. Geç yapılırsa da faydası olmaz ve zaruri ameliyat yapmak zorunda kalırız İstanbul dışından gelen bu hastamızda ilk test sonucu 13 olarak geldi. İki gün sonra 17 oldu. Normalde 2 kat fazla artmasını bekleriz. Daha sonraki takiplerinde gebelik testi artış gösterdi ama hiç arzu etmediğimiz oranlarda. Dış gebelik olma ihtimali yüksek diye daha sık takip ettik. Hastamızda hep umut vardı. Göreceksin hocam bak bu iyi gidecek dedi Haklı çıktı transferden yaklaşık 1 ay sonra gebelik kesesi ultrasonda belirdi. Daha sonra da yavaş yavaş büyüdü. Yaklaşık 2 hafta geç büyüyerek 3 aylığa ulaştı. Bugün bu paylaşımı yapmamın sebebi kanda bebeğin DNA testi de normal çıktı Mesleğimiz süprizler ile dolu.
