They didn't have anything like this when our son was younger so I am super excited that the world of babyproofing has come this far! But there’s still that quiet voice: “Did I miss something?” That feeling? Completely normal. Baby proofing isn’t intuitive. And most online advice just throws random tips at you without context. Here’s a perfect example 👇 3 places you should never put a baby gate (and most homes get at least one wrong) 1️⃣ Top of the stairs Pressure-mounted gates can shift under pressure. They’re designed to push outward, not hold back downward force. ➡️ Fix: Hardware-mounted only. Secured into the wall. 2️⃣ Across kitchens or hallways using benches or handles If it’s braced against cabinetry or door handles, it can move. Small movement = instability. ➡️ Fix: Use a properly mounted gate in a flat wall opening, or create a safe play zone instead. 3️⃣ Uneven or oversized door frames That “tiny wobble” isn’t harmless. Gaps and movement are how gates fail. ➡️ Fix: Use extensions made for the gate, or choose one designed for wide openings. The real issue? Parents aren’t given a clear roadmap. So you’re left guessing. And guessing feels heavy when a baby’s involved. 💛 That’s why we created the 45-Minute Baby-Safe Home Guide.
