60 years ago this week.
"The Purr-fect Crime" - "Better Luck Next Time" (airdates: March 17 & March 18 1966). Batman season 1, episodes 19 & 20.
Guest villainess: Julie Newmar as Catwoman.
S1.E19 "The Purr-fect Crime".
Part Two: "The Batmobile and the Bat-safety belt".
Just pausing before we get our first sight of Catwoman sixty years ago, because:
• Here we see the longest exit of the Batmobile from the Batcave in the series so far.
• My previous clips have not shown the openong titles. Here is an example.
• Here we see Batman giving Robin a lesson in Bat-safety and the need to fasten the Bat-safety belt, even if only traveling a few blocks.
In the next clip we see Catwoman. Anticipation is so much better.
Catwoman initiates a series of thefts. She purr-loins one of a matching pair of priceless golden cat statuettes, which hold a secret to the lost treasure of Captain Manx. Commissioner Gotdon calls Batman.
Batman and Robin rush to safeguard the other cat statuette from Catwoman's clutches.
Guest cast: Julie Newmar as the Catwoman, Jock Mahoney as Leo, Ralph Manza as Felix, Harry Holcomb as Mark Andrews, Pat Zurica as the guard, Alex Sharp as the henchman.
