SAVE THIS‼️This is Singapore’s first permanent immersive digital art exhibition in Marina Bay! Located in Gardens by the Bay, @be.imba is SIngapore’s first immersive theatre experience! If you’ve been to the viral Van Gogh Immersive Experience back in 2023, you’ll be glad that this place is run by the same team behind it. ✨ The space is split into two sections — the first is a massive black box room with projection screens all around. This is where they will showcase a film of a featured artist, adapting their works into this immersive format that feels like you’re literally stepping into the artwork itself. Needless to say, this is our favourite part, thanks to our short attention span. 😅 The second area is an art gallery that houses sculptures and paintings, which isn’t as exciting but still worth checking out. They’re currently showcasing the works of Fernando Botero, who has this distinct ‘chunky’ art style. The immersive experience for Botero will also be screening soon in the theatre area. 🖼️ Tickets are sold separately for each section, starting from $24 for adults. Would hope to see a bundled pricing, since most people would plan to visit both. They are still in their soft opening phase, as a retail store by @stackedstore and a wellness cafe are still in the works. 🎨 ‘colour is a joyful thing. i prefer living in colour.’ just went for the David Hockney immersive exhibit, and i honestly didn’t expect it to be so enlightening. in 50 minutes, you’re taken through six decades of his work, his bold use of colour, and his playful take on perspective 🖼 i really enjoyed hearing about his curiosity. this constant pull towards new ways of seeing, new mediums, new possibilities. it makes you want to slow down and really look, too my favourite part of the exhibit was learning how he ‘draws with his camera’ 📸 stitching photographs into collages that break out of a single frame, almost like capturing time instead of just an image and somewhere in all of that, a simple thought: colour is joy. maybe that’s the point. to live life in colour 🖍 @be.imba presents David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away) 📍 IMBA Theatre @ Gardens by the Bay ⏳ Runs until 30 June 2026 . . . . #singapore #immersiveexperience #sgtravel #sglifestyle #davidhockney

This might be one of the coolest theatre experiences in Singapore right now… We walked in and within minutes, everything just came alive ✨ lights, visuals, sound all moving around you. At some point you don’t even feel like you’re watching anymore… you’re inside it. Definitely not your usual theatre or art gallery experience. Also, they switch up the exhibitions too, so there’s always something different 😍 Quick tip: don’t rush off after. Walk around outside a bit, because parts of the experience continue beyond the space.
