PA🍌FIGHTING FOR OUR BANANA FARMERS💪
The concerning discussions by the Albanese Government around the potential opening of our domestic market to bananas from the Phillipines is as bizarre as it is potentially destructive.
We have some of the best quality fruit in the world, free from biosecurity risks and proudly Australian owned. Allowing fruit from the Phillipines risks the health of our local banana farmers not just from the potential importation of pests and diseases, but the potential for a country that produces 8 million tonnes of bananas a year to flood our market and push out our local growers.
We need to be protecting our agricultural industry not just for the economic benefits or the job security or the safety of our natural environments, but for our sovereignty.
I am asking the Albanese Government to please put Austrlians and Australia first.
