why I write book notes ⬇️ My reading systems consists of three parts 1. Setting a reading goal for the month, week, day 2. Actively engaging with all the books that I read 3. Writing notes on what I’ve learned from each book (key ideas, concepts, ideas, etc) That last step might seem tedious, but it has helps me tremendously with comprehension and retention 🧠 In a perfect world, I would have photographic memory, would be able to read a book once, and remember all of it’s content But unfortunately, my memory is not photographic, so doing the extra step of writing out notes for each book helps me remember what Ive read and understand the Author’s main points and ideas Do you write book notes? I love seeing book lovers tab and annotate their books - especially when they’re aesthetically pleasing by color coordinating highlighters and tabs to the cover of the book 🫶🏻 Annotating books is new to me - but I love the process! ⁣ ⁣ These are a few of my favorite bookish accessories for annotating - ⁣ ⁣ -book tabs: I love that these booktabs come in a variety of colors. I like to mix and match the tabs to the color of the book cover to make it more aesthetic. Not only do they also work as a ruler for underlining/highlighting, but they also serve as a bookmark! ⁣ ⁣ -midliner highlighters: I’ve been using these highlighters for years! I love the fact that these highlighters are double ended. There’s a chisel tip and a fine tip. Perfect for underlining and highlighting. They also don’t bleed through pages - which I love! ⁣ ⁣ -micron pen: this is my favorite writing pen. It’s narrow enough to underline and perfect for writing notes on the side. It’s so smooth and also comes in quite a few colors and tip sizes although I love the 02.⁣ ⁣ I will link these bookish accessories in stories and then save them to highlights.⁣ ⁣ 💬Have you been influenced by bookstagram/booktok to start annotating books?
