CA🚨 You may have heard us talking about SB290/HB433 and its attack on our first amendment…
Well today it was heard in the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee.
This was a fiscal meeting. And while the subcommittee would’ve surely like to keep the discussion about budgets, members of the outdoor industry and health/wellness movement showed up to speak their minds.
What I heard from the bill sponsor and other Reps defending it was extremely concerning. We will get to that at a later date….
Our team at @saltwaterguidesassociation has worked tirelessly on research projects. They’re extremely expensive, require an army to accomplish and take years to execute. Basing bill language on arbitrary verbiage about “legitimate science” where the government decides what is/isn’t fact is like an Orwell novel.
For now, I share my 2 minutes on the mic with hopes that more people will be inspired to do so as well.
Big industries already run politics with their finances. And if we don’t stand up to them, well, it will one day soon be illegal to do so…
This fight is far from over.
