INSeoul, Day 5: Korean’s Largest Marketing Company –
A large wall of small tiles tells the story of Cheil through changing pictograms.
We visited Cheil Worldwide Inc. in Seoul. Established in 1973, the marketing company under the Samsung Group offers advertising, public relations, digital marketing, shopper marketing, sports marketing, and much more.
It’s the country’s largest and the world’s 10th largest advertising agency, by 2022 revenues (“Cheil Worldwide,” AdAge, 23 April 2023) and the world’s 14th creative agency network (“WARC Creative 100 – Top agency networks 2019,” WARC, 25 February 2019). Major clients include Samsung, Adidas,The Coca-Cola Company, GE, General Motors, The Lego Group, and Microsoft. It has 53 offices spread across 5 continents and the CIS. We visited their office in Itaewon.
