DRThink about it—Dr. Fauci made countless controversial decisions during the pandemic. Many of those decisions later turned out to be wrong, or at least highly questionable in hindsight. But did we ever see him truly held accountable? Was he ever really put through the fire in those hearings? Not really.

Why the double standard?
You can agree or disagree with RFK’s policies, but why not hold all leaders—past and present—to the same standard? Why is one allowed to walk away from controversy unscathed while the other is grilled relentlessly?

STA recovering people pleaser needs courage.
People pleasing is often seen as being the ‘nice guy/girl.
It can also be seen as manipulation, fooling someone into getting what you want - love, acceptance, energy of some kind.
But what it actually is, is a trauma response.
It’s a subconscious pattern of relating to others learned from a young age for safety, connection and survival.
As other people pleasers will, most likely, know
It’s a habit that leaves us unhappy and our soul abandoned.
Healing takes courage.
We must face the fear of rejection and even abandonment from others,
- the emotions of the terrified child within us.
As a man on ‘the path’ I’ve gone through cycles of believing I had healed this side of me but I now see it as an addiction.
Just like many people still identify as ‘alcoholics’ even if they haven’t touched a drop in decades,
I’ve realised I must identify as a people pleaser.
It’s a wound that, if I take my eye off the ball, will rear its cute little head again and again.
I’ve come a long way.
I’ve set personal boundaries with people that once took up a lot of space in my nervous system.
I’ve honoured myself in ways that make my inner child proud.
And yet, I still succumb to the wound.
The occurrences are smaller, yet deeper.
And the deeper I go, the more courage is required.
To hold true to myself
To risk the rejection of others
Rather than rejecting myself.
For any other people pleasers out there
I feel you.

I am a trauma survivor, and this resonates deeply with me. I’ve spent many, many years healing the pain and suffering from my childhood trauma.
Trauma doesn’t make us stronger!
Our will and desire to regain who we truly are is a massive strength that we have deep within.
We vow never to allow the trauma that we endured have the power to name who we are.
Through the healing process we begin, little by little, to love ourselves again, to value the life WE want to have, and know for certain that we matter.
