Everything I do related to Clotheshorse (and TBH, in my life as a whole) always starts with the question “How could I do this better than the norm?” And when it comes to selling merch, it’s all about not only creating less waste for the world—that’s why I offer iron-on transfers rather than t-shirts—but also reducing packaging waste. That means everything takes a little bit of extra thought and time: ★ I use thrifted/secondhand envelopes for shipping. Many of these come from thrift stores—always check the office supply section when you’re thrifting—but also yard sales and @lancastercreativereuse If you’re searching for boxes or mailers for your own shipping, I also recommend checking out your local Buy Nothing group, because people are always looking to rehome excess packaging. ★ I did have custom stamps made for Clotheshorse, BUT I use thrifted ink for all of them. OMG there are so many ink pads at every thrift store and creative reuse right now. I guess it’s all the result of the Scrapbooking Industrial Complex. ★ Even the paper I’m using to print the iron-on transfer instructions is thrifted. Hence a lot of weird orange paper going out right now. ★ Thank you cards are whatever I’ve thrifted recently. Currently I’m using these home school craft project cards and they are super cool. I hope one of you is inspired to do one of the crafts on the cards! In the past, I’ve used state flash cards, secondhand greeting cards, and Rolodex cards (lots of those everywhere right now and if you don’t know what a Rolodex is, google it). I’m committed to doing the best I can and leading by example while I do it. That’s why I shared this Reel with you! Hopefully it will inspire you to show others how you mitigate waste and make thoughtful decisions!

We were amazed by the number of MacBooks and other Apple products available! As we were leaving, we asked a security guard if we could take computers home, and he said yes. So, where are these places? In Sydney, there are many electronics recycling centers where you can not only drop off unwanted gadgets but also occasionally take something useful home. Here are a few recommended places that accept old Apple technology: - E-Waste Collection Centers — scattered throughout the city. These centers accept almost any electronics, including Apple laptops. One popular center is located at 15 Coastal Ave, North Beach, Sydney. - Reverse Garbage — not only a place to drop off unwanted items but also a center for creative reuse, where you can find various unique items, including electronics. It's located at 8/142 Addison Rd, Marrickville, Sydney. - TechCollect — a free national program for recycling old office equipment. They accept all types of computers and other electronics, ensuring their safe and responsible recycling. Collection point addresses can be found on their official website.
