Ele foi capturado em 1903 após atacar moradores locais e hoje vive no Crocworld Conservation Centre, na África do Sul, onde recebe cuidados constantes. Com quase 4,88 metros de comprimento e cerca de 699 quilos, Henry impressiona pelo tamanho e pela vitalidade, mesmo depois de tantos anos. Desde 1985, ele já gerou mais de dez mil filhotes e segue ativo, tornando sua história uma das mais extraordinárias do reino animal.

This large freshwater crocodile, which can measure up to 5m, is considered one of the most critically endangered crocodiles mainly due to the small population size and limited distribution in the wild due to habitat destruction and hunting. @velascocaiman Alvaro Velasco Barbieri is one of leading investigators in Venezuela researching C. intermedius, conducting national surveys with the principal goal to determine the national status of the wild population. The principal institutions involved in the conservation for C. intermedius in #Venezuela are Fauna Silvestre Productos y Servicios, the Venezuela Crocodile Specialist Group and Fudeci. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ En el día 20 de CROC-mas: Foco en el cocodrilo del Orinoco (𝘊𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘺𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘶𝘴) CRC te trae el cocodrilo del Orinoco (Crocodylus intermedius).
