MOEver tried wiring money — only to find it may take days to arrive at the intended destination? Stablecoins, a cryptocurrency that’s pegged to another asset, is hoping to change that.
Dante Disparte, the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global Policy at @TeamCircle, tells Mo News stablecoins are the new “WhatsApp for dollars.”
Disparte explains that stablecoins look to modernize the payment and money transfer system thats has existed for decades.
“So now you don’t have to hurry up and wait for your money, you can get back to whatever it is you were doing as a productive member of society,” Disparte said. “That’s powerful.”
The GENIUS Act, signed into law this summer by President Trump, establishes the first U.S. framework for stablecoin issuers. Now, the @brookingsinst notes that regulators must decide whether stablecoins become a trusted, low-cost payment tool — or remain a niche tool for crypto trading.
