- TOO MUCH PRODUCT- you’re using way too much product and it’s weighing down your curls
- LET IT DRY- you’re getting your hands all in it while it’s wet and not letting the curls set and form a cast
- YOURE NOT USING GEL- you’re scared of your hair being crunchy but the gel is what will hold your curls. you can always scrunch out the crunch
- CLARIFYING SHAMPOO- you’re not detoxing your scalp 1x a week and it’s not letting your roots hold a curl. sulphate isn’t an enemy.

damage will be there, but it’s so minimal you can recover it in two to three washes.
Here’s how to take your hair from curly to straight or blowout with low damage. You only need three products.
Make sure every product you use in the shower, your shampoo, your conditioner both are silicone heavy. Then on damp hair, add a leave-in that’s also silicone heavy. I’m using the bond repair one from @redken . Follow it up with a silicone-heavy serum for shine- I used the @lorealparis glycolic gloss one, and a heat protectant also @redken .
Then work in small sections on high heat, high speed. Last few passes? Switch to cold.
Here’s why: a lower heat setting means going over your hair multiple times, and that’s actually more damaging than a few blasts on high heat.
This might last a few days, but I know you put all that effort into straightening and it just keeps curling back up. Every. Single. Night. So very soon I’m posting a reel on how to keep your hair safe between washes💜
