A pillow worth flying all the way to Japan?? 😅✈️ I got maybe one sentence into @danfromjapan_official’s video on making custom pillows at @nishikawa_shinsaibashi before I started looking into flights, no joke (between my cervical osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease and atlantoaxial instability, my neck is NOT thriving yall lol) The pillows range from 33k to 44k yen depending on the fill, and then there was a 5% discount on that (maybe a January thing? foreigner thing? not sure), and then about 8% back with the tax refund (the store is in a department store that processes tax refunds in the same building, so it was SUPER easy) 💴 Also - the fill you pick impacts the measurements! I switched fills halfway through and had to restart the entire custom adjustments process, which I thought was cool (makes sense, because different fills are softer vs harder) An appointment is highly recommended and super easy to make online! Turns out my old pillow was too high — which explained my occasional neck pain. They then handcrafted a pillow just for me, adjusting the height with polyethylene pipes for the perfect fit.
