Let me tell you about a couple I worked with who bought a house and within 10 MONTHS knew it wasn’t the right fit. 10 months. Not 5 years. Not 10 years. Less than a year. I still remember getting the text: “Is this crazy? We want to sell already.” My answer? Absolutely not. Let’s take a look and see what the numbers tell us. And you know what? That’s completely okay. There’s this pressure that once you buy a house, you’re supposed to stay there forever. Like you made a commitment and now you’re stuck. But here’s the truth—just like renting, you’re allowed to move. You’re allowed to realize something isn’t working. You’re allowed to want something different. So we ran the numbers. Looked at what they’d built in equity. Looked at what was available. And it made total sense. This couple ended up selling that house and actually made a PROFIT even though they’d only been there 10 months. They got into a brand new house in a different town that fit their lifestyle better—more bedrooms, a better yard for their family, closer to what they actually needed. And their monthly payment was LESS than what they were paying before. They found a place they could actually grow into. Your first house doesn’t have to be your forever house. Your second house doesn’t either. There’s no rule that says you have to stay somewhere just because you bought it. Life changes. Families grow. Priorities shift. Jobs change. And sometimes you just realize a house isn’t the right fit—and that’s reason enough. My goal your DFW realtor is that you always feel comfortable coming to me with ANY and ALL your questions.
