DIA first-year student at DIT University, Dehradun, was allegedly s*xually assaulted by hostel warden Surender at 3 AM on January 17. The student informed his roommates, leading to protests. Students accused the college of deleting CCTV footage, suppressing media coverage, and influencing the police, who allegedly did not file a case. The warden had earlier confiscated the student's electric kettle and used it as a pretext to call him. The student was reportedly tied up and assaulted for two hours. He later informed his roommates, after which students confronted and beat up the warden. Medical tests were never made public, and there was no statement from the police or authorities on this issue. The warden was temporarily suspended.
