Dot & Key was launched with ₹1 crore from the founders’ personal savings. The aim was to build skincare products that solved specific issues like acne, dryness, and sun damage using active ingredients that were still rare in India. The team kept improving products based on customer feedback, guided by the belief to “fail fast to learn fast.” In September 2021, Nykaa acquired a 51% stake in Dot & Key for about ₹97 crore. In September 2024, Nykaa raised its holding to nearly 90% after investing another ₹256–265 crore. FY25 marked Dot & Key’s strongest year. Operating revenue rose 113% year-on-year to ₹423.37 crore, while net profit increased to ₹56.09 crore from ₹15.48 crore in FY24, giving a PAT margin of about 13.3%. Based on a reported EBITDA margin of around 14%, the company’s estimated EBITDA for FY25 is about ₹59 crore. The small gap between EBITDA and profit reflects low debt and an asset-light structure. Looking ahead, Dot & Key plans to grow 2–3 times by FY27 through offline expansion, new product launches, and deeper reach across skincare, haircare, body care, and nutraceuticals like IKWI.
