BNWhat does Alpine landscapes of Switzerland and archipelagic regions of Indonesia have in common?
They both require strategies to address natural hazards before they turn into disaster.
With the increasing number of natural hazards and the challenges of climate change adaptations, countries must adapt these strategies. They can also learn from each other through exchange of practical knowledge.
This was exactly the aim of a study week organized recently in Switzerland between @Swissdevcoop and @bnpb_indonesia . Switzerland (🇨🇭) and Indonesia (🇮🇩) have been cooperating since many years in the field of disaster risk reduction. On this #DRRday we want to emphasize the value of such knowledge exchange.

Dua wilayah itu membutuhkan strategi untuk menyikapi potensi bahaya sebelum terjadi bencana.
Dengan meningkatnya bencana alam dan tantangan adaptasi perubahan iklim, negara-negara harus beradaptasi dengan strategi pengurangan risiko #DRR #PRB. Dua negara dapat saling belajar satu sama lain melalui berbagi pengetahuan dan pengalaman.
Ini merupakan tujuan studi banding yang diselenggarakan di Swiss antara @Swissdevcoop dan @BNPB_Indonesia. Swiss (🇨🇭) dan Indonesia (🇮🇩) yang telah bekerja sama sejak lama di bidang pengurangann risiko bencana. Pada hari internasional Pengurangan Risiko Bencana #DRRday, kami ingin menekankan pada manfaat berbagi pengetahuan.

BAStrengthening Climate Action & Child-Centred Disaster Resilience | National Consultation
The Two-Day National Consultation Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Action was organised on 22–23 January at the IIT Roorkee – Noida Campus, in association with IIT–ICARS and with support from Salesforce.
The consultation was further enriched on Day 2 by the presence of Prof. Vinod Kumar Sharma— Senior Professor (Disaster Management) & Consultant at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Vice Chairman, Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority and is engaged with various multilateral and government bodies as special advisor in disaster management.
With representatives from Bal Raksha Bharat (BRB) across state and national teams, the workshop brings together practitioners, researchers and climate leaders to strengthen climate-resilient and risk-informed programming for children and communities. This platform is driving meaningful dialogue, innovation and collaboration for a safer, more sustainable future especially for children.
Together, we are shaping solutions where climate action meets child protection and community resilience.

Stevi, a Youth Leadership Academy Ambassador, represented young people at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) in Manila, Philippines, from October 14-18, 2024.
APMCDRR is a conference that brings together governments, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to reduce disaster risk in the Asia-Pacific region focusing on accelerating progress in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and offer an opportunity to share innovative solutions and make actionable commitments to reduce disaster risk.
As a speaker at several APMCDRR discussions, Stevi emphasized the importance of empowering young people to lead in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate action through policy, education, and innovation.
She urged all stakeholders to fund and implement disability-friendly campaigns to raise awareness about climate change and disaster risks, particularly within local communities.
Moreover, Stevi recommended developing and disseminating disability-friendly information on climate change and disasters, such as audio-visual materials or other accessible formats.
