Combining Dance Movement Therapy techniques with the concept of "Shadow work", this workshop titled 'Explore the Unseen Self' which was facilitated on Saturday. Participants were guided through a specially designed movement sequence that invited them to connect with their shadow or suppressed parts, the aspects of ourselves we often keep hidden and unseen from the world. Through thoughtfully curated group activities, they explored a more uninhibited part of themselves, allowing space for the expression of a wide range of emotions such as joy, sadness, anger, discomfort and everything in between. 💫 The intention behind this workshop, was to gently acknowledge these parts and begin the process of integration, so what is unseen can slowly be met with awareness, compassion and using the power of dance & movement & body based healing techniques. 😊 We can only heal what we become aware of & this workshop was a step in collectively doing it together. The collective energies that each person brings to the workshop always make it wholesome and unique. Here's to ending 2025 on this note! 😊🤍 P.S. A trained Odissi dancer with a love for arts and crafts, she expressed her wish to conduct creative sessions like art, origami, and dance for our bravehearts. We truly appreciate her enthusiasm and look forward to welcoming her as a volunteer soon. 💛🌈 Because every visit creates awareness. We focus on how the body moves, how music feels, and how dance can be used as a tool for expression, release, and confidence building. Through elements of dance movement therapy, dancers are encouraged to explore emotions safely, move with intention, and trust their bodies without pressure or judgement. There’s no need to be the loudest or strongest in the room — just present. This class is incredible for kids and teens. It supports emotional regulation, confidence, body awareness, focus, and self-expression, while also developing strong contemporary and lyrical technique. We’re incredibly proud that this approach is part of the work we’ve developed and shared internationally, including collaborations with the World Health Organization, using dance as a powerful tool for emotional wellbeing. Condivido una sessione personale di autocura con la Dance Movement Therapy - DMT. La terapia psicocorporea è un invito a tornare a casa nel corpo. Un percorso in cui emozioni, traumi e blocchi non vengono solo raccontati, ma ascoltati e trasformati attraverso il movimento, la presenza e l'attivazione di processi creativi profondi. - Quando le parole non bastano, il corpo parla con la sua intelligenza e saggezza. - Quando il trauma irrigidisce, il movimento trasforma e libera. - Quando ti riconnetti al corpo, risvegli le tue energie autentiche, le tue risorse e il tuo potenziale. Un approccio integrato che unisce psicologia, movimento e consapevolezza incarnata - embodiment per trasformare lo stress in crescita e il disagio in nuova energia vitale. Integrare ai percorsi clinici il lavoro psicocorporeo é fondamentale e conduce a sperimentare la trasformazione, percepirla, riconoscerla. Anche la ricerca sostiene l'efficacia di DMT, pratiche somatiche e psicoterapie corporea sulla salute mentale, la depressione, l'ansia, lo stress, l'umore e la qualità di vita. Produce significativi miglioramenti sulla regolazione emotiva, l'integrazione sensoriale, l'autoregolazione. Inoltre é utilizzata in condizioni neurologiche come demenza e Parkinson, in neurodivergenze e con diverse utenze cliniche. Non é performance, non é danza é un processo profondo terapeutico. Nella mia esperienza personale e con i pazienti usare il corpo in terapia conduce a salti di consapevolezza a cambiamenti di percezione già dalla prima sessione. Non possiamo pensare di curarci solo con il pensiero, potremmo arrovellarci per anni, il corpo, la dimensione dell'immaginario e la creatività sono elementi chiave nella cura. É un lavoro che si interiorizza che conduce a conoscenza e autonomia ad apprendere e incarnare i processi e gli strumenti di autocura. Muoviamo il corpo per trasformare la mente. Dans, aynı anda bedeni, sinir sistemini ve duygusal sistemi etkileyen güçlü bir regülasyon aracıdır. Nörofarklı bireylerde dansın etkili olmasının bazı sebepleri: • Sinir sistemi regülasyonu: Ritmik hareketler otonom sinir sistemini düzenlemeye yardımcı olabilir. • Dopamin artışı: Hareket ve müzik dopamin salınımını artırarak motivasyon ve odaklanmayı destekleyebilir. • Duyusal boşaltım: Bedende biriken duyusal yük ve stres hareket yoluyla boşaltılabilir. • Bedensel farkındalık: Dans, kişinin bedenini ve duygularını daha iyi fark etmesine yardımcı olabilir. • Sosyal baskı olmadan ifade: Dans, sözlü iletişime ihtiyaç duymadan duyguların ifade edilmesini sağlayabilir. Bu nedenle dans terapisi (Dance Movement Therapy) psikolojide kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Dans terapisi; hareket, ritim ve beden farkındalığını kullanarak kişinin duygusal, bilişsel ve sosyal iyilik halini desteklemeyi amaçlayan bir psikoterapi yaklaşımıdır. Araştırmalar dans ve dans terapisinin: • depresyon belirtilerini azaltabildiğini • anksiyeteyi düşürebildiğini • stres seviyelerini azaltabildiğini • duygusal regülasyonu geliştirebildiğini göstermektedir. @newagemompreneurs had their recent social meetup at @ashahaidelhi where they had an interesting workshop on managing child behaviour through dance movement therapy . It is safe to say all #NAMpreneurs left the workshop feeling not just well equipped to handle their kids but also de-stressed after participating themselves in the dance movement therapy. It was good to see the group come together as one and bond over issues they face on a daily basis as mothers. The session ended with delicious food from @bestmasalamix , her pav bhaji with her special pav bhaji masala was a definite hit! Followed by dessert from @cakealicious_by_richa, the lemon cupcakes and chocolate cups were beyond amazing, so much so that are social media team couldn’t record people eating them since they were busy digging into the cups themselves 😅 Looking forward to more such workshops and meet-ups!
